The Fall Guy centers on an ex-Hollywood stuntman, played by Gosling, who is drawn back into the world of stunts and finds himself in a real high-stakes mission when the lead actor of a big-budget studio film, directed by his ex, Jody Moreno (Blunt), disappears. Winston Duke, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hannah Waddingham, and Stephanie Hsu also star.

The film is from stuntman and director David Leitch (Deadpool 2, Bullet Train) and is loosely inspired by the 1981-1986 TV series The Fall Guy, in which Lee Majors portrayed Colt, a stuntman and bounty hunter. Although the movie shares the same name, it takes a different direction from the original series.
